Health Policy

Health Office

Basis of Health and Illness Policy

  1. Providing a safe and healthy environment for all children, staff, and any other persons participating in the program.

  2. The staff’s ability to accommodate or care for a sick or injured child.

If a child becomes ill or injured while at pre-school or school, the parent/guardian will be notified so that arrangements can be made for prompt pick-up.

Please do not expect a teacher to keep a child with a cold indoors.  Fresh air with appropriate attire is always healthy.   If your child cannot participate in the ordinary daily routine, he/she is probably too ill to be in preschool or school.

Written permission, instruction, or care plan from the family health provider is required if your child needs to be excluded from the daily routine or activities at school.  (ex. activity restriction following surgery, fracture, head injury, etc.)
